We search the world to find products for our customers which allow them to be more self sufficient, reduce energy costs and pollute less! EMAX 3000 Power Factor Correction unit
The Power Factor of the electricity utilized in your home or business determines how efficiently power is being consumed. Inductive electrical loads such as motors or fluorescent lights use inductors or capacitors which result in the expenditure of reactive power which is measured in a unit called Volts-Amps-Reactive (KVARS). True power is the real power flowing to a load. The combination of reactive power and true power is called apparent power, and it is the product of a circuit's voltage and current, without reference to phase angle. Apparent power is measured in the unit of Volt-Amps (VA). Power Factor is a ratio of the Real power flowing to a load divided by the apparent power. If the Power Factor ratio is much below unity or 1, consumers end up paying for power they aren’t using and pay a higher electrical bill than they should. A simple way to visualize this is to picture a horse pulling a train car on a railroad track. If the horse is positioned directly in front of the train car the horse can pull most efficiently and all of the horses pulling energy is utilized. On the other hand, if the horse attempts to pull the train car while pulling while walking alongside the tracks, much of the horses pulling energy is wasted due to the angle the horse is pulling from. Similarly, when electricity is used, it’s most efficient if the Power Factor is as close to 1 as possible to utilize power most efficiently.
